Daniel Craig & 007

OK, before I start ...... I am not a critic. Nor I am writing a review here.

This is just to voice out my opinion on one of the most famous movie character of all time .... 007 Agent (aka James Bond).

Daniel Craig acting as the 007 Agent ..... to me, that's not a good combination. I do not know what other people may think, but for me, he's just not the person to take on this character. OK, I do admit that he has the 'body' (remember him in his swimming trunk in Casino Royale) .... however he does not have the "Bond" look (the James Bond look with the "attitude" and "handsomeness"). This guy seems to be very "kayu" to me. Just compare him to Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore or Sean Connery. These people really does have the James Bond in them.

I nearly slept halfway thru watching "Quantum of Solace" last nite. I don't know whether because of my tiredness from work or just the movie is not interesting enough to keep my attention. I don't usually or should I put it, very rarely, fall asleep while watching movies (even though I am tired) - though I do remember I fell asleep while watching Da Vinci Code.

Those who have been watching 007 movies all this while, you might again anticipate for a full action pack edition. I am rather disappointed - this James Bond movie was rather mild. And I do remember 007 movies with the Bond cars and latest hi-tech gadgets, well forget about all these for this time around. Oh no, James Bond seemed to be a murderer too nowadays.

I saw this article written in the Star today "Quantum of Errors" written by Audrey Gillian (also made reference to moviemistakes.com) - looks to me that the producers of 007 better do a thorough research or homework. To quote a couple of the mistakes:

1. Factual error: The city of La Paz, Bolivia is shown as a humid and hot city when the truth is, its elevation is 3,640 m (11,942 ft) and the average temperature is 8°C.

2. When Bond walks into the hotel in Haiti, a notice can be seen on the inside of the door, giving instructions on what to do in case of fire in French and English. The French section is headed "EN CASE D'INCENDIE". The correct French phrase should be "EN CAS D'INCENDIE".

NO MOOD WEEK

I have officially declared this week as NO MOOD WEEK at work. Yeah … my mood “meter” in the office has been running very low this week.

Contributors:
1. Quarter end – another nightmare is here, and this time is the worse of all. We are expected to achieve $XX million of sales (in USD, not RM) and we are way behind this target. And of course, with the current market situation, this is adding to the headache.
Actually, our main customer has already announced a drop of sales by USD1 billion in this quarter.

2. ‘Big’ S person (well, can be pronounced as “ASS” if you like) in our corporate office poking his nose in everything single thing we are doing here. He’s been pissing almost everyone since last week. Well, most of us know that he has a spy over here who informs him of things.
One clear message - PLEASE MIND YOUR BUSINESS as we can handle things here better without having you bugging our lives (in fact, we have already been managing everything so well ever since we started).

3. Holiday season is coming and holiday mood in my mind …. YES …. I really need a holiday. The last time I went for vacation was in July (Redang island). Really cannot tahan ….. need a break to release off my stress.

One thing that I can attest and confirm …… this kind of mood actually is very contagious as my colleagues in the same cubicle is having the same feeling.

CHOICES AND DECISIONS

Our lives are always full of choices. Choices have been laid before us every single day and in almost everything we do. Which one of the choices should we choose from is a decision that we have to make.

One thing I came to know that certain decision is not easy to make. And especially when the choice laid before me is between a YES or NO. It’s like you reached at a road junction, and the choice is between turning right or left. Taking the wrong turn can lead me to a wrong destination and the road to come back is a long and difficult way.

Something that I read today caught my attention. It’s from the daily reflection that I received thru my email on the daily readings. The title is “Your Invitation to God’s Party”. It talks about today’s Gospel reading, but I like how the writer (Terry A. Modica) interprets this.

Here are some excerpts that has showed me some light of what I have been praying and discerning for

“Not all invitations are from God. How do we know which invitations to accept? In my own life, I find it helpful to ask the Holy Spirit to increase in me the desire to do what HE's inviting me to do and to decrease all other desires. Then I wait to see what happens.”

“Then, I trust how my feelings change, and I trust that if I misinterpret God, he'll turn it all into good, because I did want to do his will. Discernment only works if we surrender our will and ideas to God, giving him permission to change us, and listening quietly to the Holy Spirit's nudgings deep within us. There are no good excuses for saying no.”

“Every invitation to God's party looks like a job — a service — of some sort, and it will often seem difficult and unpleasant. But you know what? Once we get into the task that God's invited us to do, we discover it comes with many blessings. We come alive with personal satisfaction and renewed energy, because we're doing it with Jesus.”

Am I ready to make decision yet ….. hhmm, not really at this moment.
Well, this reflection has lighten some of my burden though. But I do hope when the time comes, I will make the right decision, and according to God’s will.

Super Busy Day

True indeed ..... a super busy day at office. Am taking a break in between work now to relax my mind .... cannot tahan liao.

Well, it's because of one stupid customer (yes, really stupid, idiot customer which my colleagues and I agreed that we should give the award of 'best' customer of the year) that spoilt my mood at work today. OK, this account actually belongs to my colleague whom is off for Deepavali holidays. Dealing with this person alone can put all my other customers on hold. I now come to understand fully why my colleague (SJ) used to scold this person a lot. Not only she doesn't understand things nor being blur most of time, but she is so damn rude. Even the worst customer that I am dealing with is not as bad as this person.

Well, it has always been said that "Customer is always right" ... however, for this kind of person, I don't think so. If we give in, then we'll die just by doing our job. That's my opinion. Hhmm..... what say you?

Mondays being off-day again ......

OK ..... the place where I worked has started to observe a series of shutdowns on every Mondays. Thinking that I will have more than enough leave to enjoy my Christmas holidays, here the management announced shutdowns again. Arrgghhh ..... now looks like I will not have enough leave for Christmas holidays ..... well, anyway, nothing could stop me from taking my break after all.

Having an off-day or not doesn't bring much difference ..... still had to work from home. Well, here's another regulation that we can't let our customers know that we are having shutdown at all. Our dept tried that previously and guess what happen next .... we were in deep shit with the customers! So, what we are doing now, each of us in the team takes our turn to let customers know that we are off for 'training' or 'team building' ... whatever excuses we can find. Not a brilliant idea, but at least we can escape from working all day long at home!
